Stone Song Cold Iron Series Book 3 edition by DL McDermott Paranormal Romance eBooks

Stone Song by D.L. McDermott is the third book in the series and could be read as a standalone, but the nuances of the series would be missed if it was read with out the series. The book starts out strong, but I did not feel connected to the romance of Edala and Sorcha in this book. Edala as a hero just didn't strike a cord with me as there was no depth to his character beyond being Miach's 'right-hand'. The book felt like a rehash of the previous book that centered around Miach and Helene even with the stay at Deidre and Kevin's house. This book has an bridge type feel to it as plot points from the previous book were cleared up in this book. It set up Blade Song, kind of like the 'Empire Strikes Back' of this series; not a bad book and yes, it was needed so we, the series readers, could move onto Finn's story.

Stone Song Cold Iron Series Book 3 edition by DL McDermott Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

It's the third installment in a great story line that, I hope, goes on for many more books. The writing and the stories are clean (I mean, logical progression) and interesting, and the love scenes are hot! I wish there were more of them!
I really enjoyed the two previous books in the series, but this one hooked me from page one. Mixing more fae myth, Boston details and new musical themes into the usual heady brew of drama, magic and romance really upped the game here.

Sorcha is my favorite of the protagonists (so far), and Elada is a perfect match for her.

Love where the series is going, and can't wait for the next one.
I really enjoyed this book. Actually I have enjoyed the entire series altho I have not read the 4th one yet.
Awesome reading!! This book will definitely hold your interest. I would highly recommend this book to anyone over the age of 21.....
I enjoyed the idea of this series about Druid magical power lying dormant in certain humans, the history between Druids & Fae, and how most Fae are dangerous & cold-hearted, how their potential mass release into modern human society would be catastrophic. I liked the plot & story lines of this series. I particularly enjoyed how the main Druid characters latent magic manifested itself. Unfortunately, I found myself wishing that I cared more about the characters. In fact, I felt sometimes felt too irritated with them.

In this book, Sorcha Kavanaugh's story showed promise in the beginning but it wasn't enough for me to feel sufficiently attached to her even by the end of the book. Perhaps I would have felt differently had her experience with the Fae been revealed earlier in the book. I think it would have added depth to the story, enhanced the drama and lessened much of the irritation I felt over many of Sorcha's actions. At first, I felt that my complaint stemmed from being too accustomed to reading series with the same main couple in each book, but there is the fact that I got to know Elada Brightsword from the two previous books in this series and I still felt something was lacking.

Regardless of my issues, I still consider it a decent read.
The third installment in DL McDermott's highly enjoyable Cold Iron series features Sorcha Kavanagh, the weirdest and most goth heroine of the series so far, dwelling, sans coffee, with her emasculated musician boyfriend in the ironbound house she inherited from her mysterious, achromatic Gran. Sorcha harbors dark secrets, and will come into her birthright while unleashing a cataclysm of destruction at the novel's end.

Who knew I would enjoy this series as much as I do? But I do.
The third in the series was a nice HEA paranormal romance, but the way she reduces the actual Fae'ness of her heroes is exactly the same in each book. I plan on reading the 4th in the series, but unless the larger story arch of the release of the Wild Hunt is furthered by A Lot, I probably won't read many more. 3 books in and the story is becoming generic and redundant and if they continue like this I won't be able to look back and differentiate stories and Fae from on another. Which is sad. I quite like the characters and would hate to see them degenerate the way other series leads have ie. Black Dagger Bro and Night Hunters
